Title: Where are all these games from?
Description: Azumanga games? On what console
Evander - June 6, 2004 02:33 PM (GMT)
I've been scrolling around this site and have noticed that there are some Azumanga games on this planet.
But where to find them? And if they ever got released on a game console: which one? (I know there is this one game on the GBA)
I hope there is someone who can tell me.
My regards,
Evander

They are all from Japan.
They are all made by fans for fans, except one console game. The rest of games are made for Windows users. It's much easier to program games for PC than consoles.
You can get them by pay per download, or you can buy them in some CD. I can get them in CD, but I don't know if it's worth it.
Spiritsnare - June 6, 2004 03:31 PM (GMT)
Well, here you go, Evander. ;)
Azumanga-Donjara-Daiou is a PlayStation game in which you're supposed to use Mahjongg blocks with the characters' faces on them to get three of three character sets of three.
Example would be: Tomo-Tomo-Tomo-Chiyo-Chiyo-Chiyo-Osaka-Osaka-Osaka. That would be a winning "hand", so to speak.
There's also a lucky piece - none other than Chiyo-Chichi. ^_^
-=-
Azurace is a PC fangame in which the girls race on Necoconeco things. Four stages only, but it supports local (and I guess if you do some tweaking to the source) network multiplay.
-=-
Azucola is a PC fangame which is basically a Columns clone. 'Nuff said.
-=-
Azumanga Puzzle Daioh is basically Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble reskinned and with big pictures of the characters obscuring your view every time you manage to pull off more than one successful pop. The big difference is in multiplayer, though - there's now a hole between the two players' fields that allows you to disrupt your opponent's combo or whatever. And what happens when two bubbles come into contact with each other? They burst, of course. But other than that, there's no real mods to multiplayer, except that it has those big picture things that screw you up. ;)
-=-
Azutaiken is your aforementioned GBA card game. What you try to do is get as many stars connected in-between the cards as possible - but here's the catch: you have to at least have three stars in the link.
-=-
Azufight is a PC fangame in which the Azu girls fight. A copy of the demo is somewhere within the forums to download via BT.
-=-
There's also a game for the PC (I dunno what its name is, but it's in a folder named "chiyo" in my HDD) that allows you to play a Raiden-type game in which Chiyo has to shoot at dozens of Chiyo-chichis. Great fun, but it's practically impossible to get to the boss (or at least from my experience, at least. ^_^)
-=-
Chiyoruga is another game that follows that thing, only more 2Dish and has better and sexier graphics IMO. I haven't played this one yet, but that's what it looks like, from the screenshots I saw.
-=-
Chiyo-Chakanagi or Chiyo-Key (or something to the extent) is (I'm guessing) something along the lines of Chip's Challenge, the old Windows game you actually had to pay for. ;)
-=-
And that's it...I think I'm done...I don't know what the hell the snowball game is, so I'll leave it to you guys to list that one. ;)

Azumanga Daioh Advance for the GBA - Sort like a CCG type game where you line up stars three or more-in-a-row. It's easier to play it than explain it. Oh and the cart works on any GBA system, but good luck finding it.
Bappers - June 7, 2004 08:28 PM (GMT)
That game is so much fun!
Hachiko - June 7, 2004 08:47 PM (GMT)
And you forgot Azumanga Volleyball. It's another fangame, which was previously mentioned on this fora. (I think...)
Spiritsnare - June 7, 2004 11:38 PM (GMT)
Damn. How could I forget? o.o;
I'll update later on, though...I'm laaazy.
darkphoenix - June 8, 2004 03:20 AM (GMT)
That Azurace reminds of the old racing games on the SNES. *having flashback moment*
Spiritsnare - June 8, 2004 03:21 AM (GMT)
Indeed, the first impression a lot of my friends got while I was playing it in the school library was, "Is this a reskinned Mario Kart?"

What about the Osaka Simulator? Does anyone know where I can find it?
The links in the post where I heard about it don't work at all (for example, Angelfire does not allow external linking to the .torrent file), and I can't get Shareza to work for me :(
Tomo - June 8, 2004 07:01 AM (GMT)
does any one have chiyoruga i want that game and whats this osaka simulator i want that to lol
Spiritsnare - June 9, 2004 01:04 AM (GMT)
OSAKA SIM: www.hirahira.net <- Good luck finding the link. ;)
Oh, and I don't really consider the Osaka Sim to be a game...the only interactive part of that is buying stuff for her. :D
Tomo - June 9, 2004 06:40 AM (GMT)

Its just a screensaver, you wait and watch her dance and play with lightsabers etc, and every so often something comes up she can buy
if you quit in a certain way it saves your game, so you dont have to do it from the beginning, but for some reason every so often it erases mine, so ive given up on it >_<
If theres a mIRC channel somewhere for Azu forums ill be happy to send you the osaka sim and chiyoruga ^_^
Evander - June 9, 2004 03:31 PM (GMT)
Ge thank you all who helped here.
But can I ask one more thing. Where can I download them?
Just ask'n :)

What's that? Sora Mimicake/keeki>wrong. Translates to "Blue sky Mimi CAKE/Keeki. It would be Soramimi Cake.
And I'd also like the direct link to the Osaka Sim too. cant do mIRC chats.

My bad. I don't think I did download the simulator. It's just some 3D demo (I think) of Osaka dancing.
Clicky! Here's the link of what I downloaded last night.
Strawberri - June 11, 2004 02:09 AM (GMT)
Wow, I got 1% done!
Well, I still want the sim [if that ain't it]. I like Osaka dancing and all, but I really want that simulator!!!!

Apologies for the monster bump but I've got a question and I've been advised to ask it here.
For the Osaka simulator (the link provided above) how do you actually get items?
Or is it just the demo, thus forcing me to go looking for the full version?

Osaka will sit down in front of the TV once per day, and then you will be able to buy an item that appears on the shopping network.
Sammi Logan - September 16, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
[EDIT]
She sits down and a CD comes up with the words CD1 1000 and then a symbol I don't recognise and my computer won't print outside of the game.
Is that an item or an prompt for me that it's the demo?
If it really is the item I'm after, what do I do to buy it?
[/EDIT]
[EDIT 2] Button mashing seems to up the number count (money), though do nothing else.
HELP!
Please?
[/EDIT 2]

Double post bump, because I don't think anyone noticed the edit.

There should be a button in the window that pops up that will purchase the item. I guess if that's not there, you have the demo.

I've got the demo then, I see no button.
So the next questions has to be: where (if anywhere) can I get hold of the full version?
THE ROOK - September 21, 2005 12:48 AM (GMT)

Probably available on most P2P networks, and torrent sites host it every once in a while.
I think I got mine off a torrent.

Ok, there's the computer games, the Osaka sim, the puzzle aracade and GBA game.
I can't read Japanese for beans but is this picture talking about an AzuDai game for Playstaion? Look at the 3D Tomo, Sakaki and Chiyo in the middle. And the thing at the bottom even has a PS symbol on it! But after some reasearch, I found nothing about this game!
Does it exist? Anyone know?
Nagare Akatsuki - February 27, 2006 10:30 PM (GMT)
Picture? What picture?
EDIT- And I've not heard of an Azu game on the PS2 before.
AgentPaper69 - February 27, 2006 11:21 PM (GMT)
I saw a clip about the puzzle arcade before...but the rest...I have no idea. But it sounds cool!
