Title: Why is Yomi friends with Tomo?
Description: Azu-mystery!

Why is Yomi friends with Tomo?

The Q&A section of the mainsite has posited blackmail as an answer.

A friend of mine suggested the initial friendship started with Tomo protecting Yomi from more aggressive individuals, and as it wore on Yomi stayed because of the psychological sunk cost factor.

My idea: Yomi is a psychic vampire. She stays nearby Tomo because she's just bursting with delicious, if undirected, energy. This is also why she's nervous about controlling her weight. It's hard to burn calories when you're binging on the sweet and salty elan vital that is Essence of Tomo. =o

Do you agree? Do you have an alternate theory?

Discuss!

I have no idea why I continue pal-ing around with my idiot friends either. Personally, I don't like being a deliberate jerk to people, although obviously that isn't a problem for Yomi. :P

I think it comes down to seeing the inner good in people, and not wanting to give up after investing years into a friendship. Even the idiot Tomo managed magnanimity every once in a while. :)

But that brings up the question of why/how Yomi became invested in a friendship with Tomo in the first place. =o

And as a kid, I doubt Tomo would have known how to be a jerk.

From the Yomi standpoint, it's also amusing to watch people with Tomo's mindset trainwreck themselves.

Different people can become friends. I'm sure you've seen that before.

My drummer, Tim, couldn't possibly be more different from me. He's incredibly social, happy-go-lucky, energetic, a perfectionist in his work, open to experimentation with things that I definitely wouldn't be (like trying marijuana ._.), and I'm more of a loner, kinda dark, exceedingly low-energy, and pretty closed to the whole idea of partying and experimenting with things like that.

However, we work so well together that no matter what band I'm in, he's always been the first dude to come in and bash the skins. And in many ways, except for music taste and tolerance for others, we're polar opposites. So... yeah. Different people can become the best of friends easily.

(like trying marijuana ._.)

No worse than drinking, whatsoever IMO.

I know this will possibly derail this thread but I'm just sayin'. :P
