amazing what you can find following webserver logs ;) this forum *really* likes my new azumanga board over on Wakachan ^_^ however, could i request if you're direct linking stuff can you just show the thumbnail-sized images instead with a link to the full size pic? because you're completely killing my bandwidth :blink:

But if they're stealing you bandwidth, I'm sure the direct-linked images will be replaced with links pointing at the poster's own bandwidth. I expect the culprit will edit the offending posts shortly. ^_^ If not, I can track them down myself and point them out, for more easily removing them.* * Edit: I was talking about finding and removing the pictures, not the person. XD |

Looking back at that, what I intended to say was 'removing the pictures' but it looks like I meant removing the person! :ph34r: Anyway, most of the direct-links are gone now, which is good. I still saw some here though. |

Shame on people for direct linking!
Wakachan just merged with some other imageboard the other day, and gained a lot of new stuff. Now it's more competition for 4chan imo. Still wondering if iicah will ever live again though :P |

Thanks for all the replies i hope you didn't get the wrong idea, i don't mind you showing pictures, just not pages full with fully-sized pics embedded. :P it's just a little scary when a board's usage jumps from 250mb/day to 1.7+GB/day in just two days ^_^ ie. you could say just link a picture to <web-address>/thumb/35135313143s.jpg and a text link to the full size version instead of to <web-address>/src/35135313143.jpg and it'll use something like a 10th of the bandwidth instead

yes and no, iichan is now officially dead and not returning. however the current plan is wakachan is staying as it now (ie. relatively worksafe iichan replacement) with the old iichan domain used to host some more 'not worksafe' boards
well there is a /b/ on wakachan, but it's moderated to make it worksafe and contain approximately 95% less stupid™ than 4chans version :D
Don't worry too much about it. the traffic has allready gone down a lot, just a friendly request was all that was needed :)

Wakachan works on my the computers in class we use so when I am messing around I can go there unlike bleh 4chan which is something I cannot go to cause our school has like a thing that blocks all .org so I cannot view them which is stupid. I also like the gaming section! |

heheheh i actually took over hosting of that board when it was having hosting trouble too :D (even though i didn't change the board logo, but look at the host URL for it ;)) i must be mad hosting 6 relatively high-bandwidth boards on wakachan, but it was well worth it considering the only real alternative is 4chan and if anyone followed the saga of my webhosting on wakachan you'd know why it ended up with me hosting so much of it :P |
