The RPG Class Thread, a revival

I was gonna bump my old thread, but I wanted to change my choice (I was monk last time) ... and it was old, anyway! I also tweaked the list a little bit. As some people might be able to guess, I'm choosing the ninja. B)

It all depends on the mood I currently am and in what game , but I avoid all mainstream classes like warrior and knight and choose Gunslinger, Rogue or Healer ( I love people bagging me for heal ;p ) :P

And Benny, A ninja? EVERYBODY IS NINJA :rolleyes: ;p

In games, I'd consider playing something like a fighter if it's unglamorous and others wouldn't want to(but someone should)? Maybe not if it's too dull, though.

Based on my own strengths*... healer or black mage, maybe? The former (or both?) if I have a party to look after, but otherwise destructive magic sounds fun. =3


* Despite some training in martial arts, I doubt I'd be good in a mostly-physical role. Would be fun to use unexpected close-combat skill to surprise people who try to take down the squishy wizard, though, possibly before doing something horrific and magical to them. ^^

Going by context, an RPG flavoured one? We could take ideas from that cRPG thread and implement something in comic form, I guess... ^^


(I was actually idly thinking earlier (after asking elsewhere "if [forum name] was an anime, what'd it be like?" led to an activity burst and some interesting character design work), it might be cool to do some kind of creative project here, so developing this kind of idea further would interest me.)

I'd always pick a cleric in RPG games. I could not fathom not having the ability to heal myself.

If not that, usually some type of rogue/thief.

I do think it would be interesting, but despite having been the one to suggest it in the first place, I can't really be involved at the moment. My existing comic takes up far too much of my time as it is.

Being awful at drwaing, I've been sometimes tempted to write a long story using Wonderland as the back drop. Probably a thriller or a mistery where members of the forum are randomly starting the be affected by X, having to start organizing themselves in a worldwide quest to discover what X is and the mistery behind it. We have a lot of characters and most of us have different skills so it could work quite nicely.

Of course, the more awesome version would also include cool transformations, rpg elements and fantasy worlds.

That sounds pretty bomb.

Okay, how about this. Anyone interested in penning such a thing should get together and do it. Even if it just turns out to be a script, it'd still be interesting. But if it's pretty awesome, chances are I (or one of our more talented artists) might be inspired to do some illustrations.

What I'd Want To Be: A ranger. I am from Texas, after all. :P

What I'd Probably End Up Being: A healer. -_-

You guys do realize Benny is probably our best bet to get more than a page written on any forum-fic you guys might dream up, right? He hasn't updated his soaps in like three years. That's your best bet. ;p


Anyway, I'm torn between white mage, black mage and healer, because I can't decide which is least evil.
