Headhunters - Very good, very clever.

I saw that too recently! I think I forgot to mention it here.

So anyway, I saw The Avengers today. It was soooo good. I thought that having so many separate protagonists could be a problem, but because they'd already been fleshed out a lot in the earlier films, it flowed really well even with all those different characters. It certainly didn't disappoint.

I saw Grave Encounters the other night with some friends. I quite liked the premise of people filming a reality TV ghost-hunting show finding real ghosts, but it became disappointing. The potential for tension and eerieness was wasted and the ending wasn't all that great. It's a shame, because it was pretty (intentionally!) funny early on and could've been a decent horror movie.

Even since Paranormal Activity movies like these keep coming up, the idea is nice but can only be used so many times before it gets old and the effect wears of because people know what to expect and there isn't much oom for variation either.

Last movie I saw was Wall-E a few weeks ago. It was quite enjoyable.

that's too bad about only the states getting that last scene, as it was hilarious.
Spoiler! :
my favorite part was how bored captain america looked

so i just watched The Box last night. its the 3rd movie by Richard Kelley, the guy that made Donnie Darko (still one of my favorites) and Southland Tales (an underrated, glorious mess of a movie). i guess a lot of people didnt care for this movie, but i liked it a lot, aside from some problems near the end. i feel like this is the only guy that can make movies that confuse and lose me, but keep me interested and wanting to find out exactly whats happening, instead of just being like "well, i'm lost. this is stupid." i dont know if it was his original intention or not, but one thing that i enjoyed about it was that it seemed to follow a kind of dream/nightmare logic at times. also it was creepy as hell, and certain parts of it reminded me of david lynch films (specifically wild at heart and lost highway), and some of the weirder parts of the shining (any stanley kubrick references are OK with me). i also got kind of an old-school horror/alfred hitchcock vibe from it at times, but i think that was mostly from the music (which i later found out was by members of the arcade fire and owen pallet! awesome!)

An excellent use of your time!

Though I find I can never sit through most of it - I skip right to SPACE. Pan Am, videophones, orbital hotels, exercise routines, pod bay doors, audio processing circuit boards, daisy, daisy, give, me, your, answer, dooooo.

I'm not really sure where this would go, but I've been watching "The Big Bang Theory" lately, and I was hooked after the first two episodes! I'm almost caught up and I can't get enough! It's definitely my new favorite show right now. :D
