So in the modern day and age of the internet, people seem to be downloading music more and more, and some bands are even nice enough to GIVE AWAY their music, completely free of charge. The point of this thread is to share discoveries of completely free music. This is not the place to post torrents of commercial releases or pirated music. Only stuff that's been freely released by the band themselves (think Radiohead's "In Rainbows" or Nine Inch Nails' "The Slip" for well-known examples). Also acceptable are free singles released by bigger bands. Bear in mind that these free music offers can expire at any time though, and I will not reupload any song that has been pulled from free download.

Remember though, no commercial releases (ie. pirated music) are to be posted here, and I'm pretty slick at recognizing these things. Most of them will release it for free on their own website, and not through a fan site or blog.
Also, a lot of bands that release free music allow you to donate to them as an option, so I'd encourage you to do so if you can, because these bands are awesome enough to give their music away for free

Anyways, on to the first post!
An avant-garde rock band called maudlin of the Well has released their most recent album,
Part The Second completely for free on their
website. The album was funded via fan donations, allowing them to release it completely for free.
Basically, the music is like a dreamy Pink Floyd/Porcupine Tree sound with some avant-garde orchestral elements involved. Kinda dream-pop-y. Really awesome, jazzy, dreamy stuff.
Again, the link for the album is
here, and you have three download options: VBR mp3 as direct dl from their site, CD-quality WAV and FLAC files as torrent files.
Enjoy, and feel free to share your own free release discoveries
